Food Writer

Informed Food Writing

Steven's understanding of food is grounded in an understanding of agriculture and gardening. They go hand in hand.

Practical Experience

As someone who enjoys making shopping more than just a trip to the frozen food section, Steven has a good pulse on unique and interesting foods. As someone who loves cooking, he takes the time to learn about ingredients. And as someone in tune with the happenings in agriculture, he makes sense of issues surrounding food production.

Professional Experience

Steven is a contributor to the book The Edible City: Toronto's Food from Farm to Fork (Coach House Books, 2009.)

Steven's articles about food producers, food merchants, food issues, and his own passion for food appear regularly in Edible Toronto magazine.

Steven is a member of the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation. He is a contributing editor for Country Guide magazine and often writes for Small Farm Canada magazine.
